Party Pie

with one comment

Yes, every pie is a party, but this pie and its twin were baked at Marilyn and Bill’s in Coldspring during a an afternoon party in honor of a sculpture by Mike. About 70 people were there, (including many people you might know). It is hard to know who had pie. I chatted with Huma while she ate hers. Timothy cut slivers of pie for those who could tear themselves away from the World Cup Final; I remember Tamas being one of them, Clem, Pete, Elizabeth, Joyce, Andrea, and Polly also. Stacy loved the super tender crust. And so did Kurt who had the last, still warm piece.

Cold oven-fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon and feta salad, bread-and-butter pickles, deviled eggs, and frozen chocolate-covered bananas were also in attendance.

David and Maureen came late and missed the pie. But we made a plan to make a plan for pie later.

  1. I recognize that last piece of pie.

oh, the sweet things it whispered to me before disappearing all too quickly…
